Hooray

It's an obvious thing to say, but isn't the web a marvellous adventure playground and the beauty is you never know where it will lead you.

Take today, I went on to the Telegraph site to find out how the cricket was going and in no time I got to know more than I really wanted to about FGM -- that's female genital mutilation to you -- and learnt that there's an Italian artist who paints frecoes on fighter jets.

From there it was but a short step to story about the World Porridge Making Championships, so I just had to visit their website which in turn lead me to the discovery that there is such a thing as a chainsaw sculptor and that they too have an annual competition when more or less the same handful of people risk serious injury in the name of art.
